Licensed Practical Nurse

This position requires the administration of treatment under the guidance of a physician or other authorized prescriber. The nurse will work both independently and as part of a healthcare team. Conducting risk assessments and developing comprehensive care plans is essential. Participation in an interdisciplinary treatment team for the assessment and evaluation of mental health care plans is expected. Wound care is a responsibility of this role. Quality care must be ensured through observation and evaluation of patients. The nurse will report on the mental health status of individuals to the healthcare team. Documentation of nursing interventions on medical records is required. The position includes the responsibility of managing controlled substances and ensuring their security. Decision-making in routine cases is part of the role. Utilizing de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to maintain a safe environment is necessary. Responding to emergencies, including the possibility of physically restraining individuals, may be required. The nurse will ensure the availability of medications and supplies. Providing emotional support to patients and their families is a critical function. Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work environment is expected. Formulating and implementing nursing care plans may be part of the job. Participation in psychotherapeutic and rehabilitation interventions may be required. Delegating nursing tasks consistent with established protocols may be part of the responsibilities. The role may also involve serving as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional.
