Municipal Attorney (Transactional) Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000
A well-established law firm is seeking a Municipal Attorney (Transactional Focus) to join its Austin office. This is a great opportunity to work directly with cities and local governments on high-impact projects involving development, infrastructure, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise municipalities on municipal law matters, including land use, zoning, procurement, and ordinances
- Draft and negotiate development agreements, real estate transactions, tax abatements, and utility agreements
- Assist with annexations, ETJ matters, and subdivision regulations
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and city officials on projects
- Conduct legal research and support open meetings/records compliance
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing in Texas
- 2+ years of municipal law or related experience
- Background in land use, zoning, planning, or annexation preferred
- Strong drafting and client-facing communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
- $120K – $140K base salary
- 1800 billable hour requirement
