Blue Bird of Alexandria is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our warm, child‑centered school community. If you are passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a safe, joyful, and developmentally rich environment for young learners, we would love to meet you.
About the Role As a Lead Teacher at Blue Bird, you will guide the classroom with confidence, compassion, and professionalism. You will design engaging learning experiences, support children’s social‑emotional growth, and collaborate closely with families and staff to uphold the high standards our community values.
What You'll DoResponsibilities Include
- Creating and implementing daily lesson plans and hands‑on learning activities
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
- Supporting children’s social‑emotional development through positive guidance
- Building strong, respectful relationships with families
- Mentoring and guiding assistant teachers to ensure consistency and quality
- Upholding Blue Bird’s values of warmth, professionalism, and child‑centered care
What We’re Looking For
- A warm, positive, and reliable educator who genuinely loves working with young children
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Experience planning developmentally appropriate activities and routines
- Ability to lead assistant teachers and foster a collaborative, supportive classroom team
- A CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education (or related field) preferred
- Prior experience in an early childhood setting required
1 to 2 years of experience in a classroom setting.
