Loan Officer

Primary Function The primary function of the Loan officer is to sell loan products offered by NewRez and to develop and maintain referral sources by contacting prospective clients and making in‑person calls to real estate agents, financial advisors, and other referral sources. Principal Duties Utilize and develop a network of resources for mortgage loan business development and solicitation for new business. Maintain a database of customer contacts and market to them. Educate potential borrowers, Real Estate Agents, and Homebuilder sales representatives on the Company’s products and services and deliver presentations when necessary. Complete thorough loan applications by communicating with applicants and resolving any questions regarding application information. Perform pre‑qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk according to the Company’s credit policies and federal regulations. Negotiate rate, terms and conditions of the loan, lock loans on time, collect up‑front fees, and submit complete applications with all required documents and disclosures. Input loans into the appropriate Automated Underwriting System for underwriting decision. Assist with and resolve issues related to processing, underwriting and closing of loans. Maintain compliance on all loan files and pipeline. Represent the Company in community and civic functions to enhance its image and develop additional business. Other duties as assigned. The loan officer may also provide additional requested duties. Education and Experience Requirements Active state MLO license in each state where business is conducted. High‑school diploma or GED. Minimum three years of lending origination experience. Strong PC skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Lotus Notes. Solid knowledge of state and local real‑estate markets. Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements Plan for contingencies, anticipate problems, and identify risks. Negotiate persuasively to produce positive outcomes. Listen and respond to customers’ needs effectively. Demonstrate strong customer service skills and corporate responsibility. Convey and receive ideas, information, and directions professionally. Build and maintain work relationships and resolve workplace conflicts. Maintain positive rapport with customers and provide creative solutions. Demonstrate solid selling skills and techniques. Influence others to gain commitment. Maintain optimism and focus on achieving goals. Recover quickly from setbacks and rejections. Foster strong partnerships with customers and ensure satisfaction throughout the sales process. Complete all required training courses on time. Identify customer needs and adapt sales presentations effectively.
