Job Summary
Physical Therapist Outpatient (PT OP) in an outpatient setting is responsible for evaluating new patients, establishing measurable treatment goals, and developing appropriate treatment programs to help restore function and prevent disability. This role involves administering diagnostic tests, implementing treatment modalities, and providing documentation of patient care and progress.

Job Details

• Position Description: Outpatient setting. Responsible for organizing and conducting medically prescribed treatment programs for adult and pediatric patients to aid in functional restoration and disability prevention. Evaluates new patients, sets objectives, administers diagnostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests, and documents patient care. Carries out treatment modalities, re-evaluates, and modifies plans as needed. Communicates with medical and allied health personnel regarding patient progress, discharge planning, and patient/family education. Provides instruction in therapeutic procedures and assists in training new personnel. Maintains departmental policies, participates in quality improvement, and adheres to safety and infection control standards. Attends meetings, engages in professional development, and maintains daily records. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; 0 years of experience.
• Shift: Days, 10-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Serves as a clinical resource for rehabilitation staff within a focused area of clinical expertise; assists management with planning and supervision of clinical specialty areas; documentation of specialist certification may be required.
