Tax Supervisor

Kentner Sellers CPAs is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor to join our Tax Group. This role is designed for a public accounting professional ready to take greater ownership of client relationships, review work prepared by others, mentor staff, and help move engagements efficiently from preparation through completion. The Tax Supervisor will work with a diverse mix of closely held businesses and individual clients while remaining hands‑on with complex tax preparation, planning, and research. Key Responsibilities Review federal, state, and local income tax returns for businesses and individuals for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate tax treatment. Prepare complex business and individual income tax returns as needed. Manage assigned client engagements, including workflow, deadlines, open items, and communication with clients and internal team members. Perform tax research, planning, projections, and related advisory work; identify tax issues and planning opportunities. Mentor, train, and provide timely feedback to staff and senior accountants; delegate work appropriately and help keep engagements moving. Develop and maintain strong client relationships and respond to client questions professionally and timely. Follow firm workpaper, documentation, quality‑control, and technology standards and stay current on relevant tax developments. Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or a related field. Approximately 4+ years of recent tax experience in a public accounting / CPA firm environment. Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing business and individual income tax returns. Ability to manage multiple client engagements, priorities, and deadlines with limited supervision. Experience mentoring, training, or reviewing the work of less‑experienced staff. Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn firm tax, workflow, and document‑management systems. Ability to work additional hours during peak tax filing periods as client deadlines require. Preferred Qualifications CPA license or meaningful progress toward CPA certification. Experience with pass‑through entities, closely held businesses, and individual taxation.
