Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Job Title: Carpenter Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Day – 6:00 am – 2:30 pm – Monday – Friday (with weekends as needed for special projects) Location: Holy Cross Hospital , Silver Spring, Maryland Position Purpose: The Carpenter constructs, repairs, and maintains wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, fixtures, and other parts of the Hospital building. As a “Carpenter” you will: Construct and renovate walls, ceilings, and floors. Design and build casework and cabinetry. Respond to emergent calls promptly and courteously. Install walls/floors in all in-house construction/renovation projects. Maintain, repair, or replace damaged walls/floors in all patient rooms and common areas. Maintain/repair the hospital ceiling tiles. Refinish hospital furniture. Maintain essential tools and equipment inventory. Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent with courses in shop, mathematics, mechanics, and general science. Driver’s License required. Good knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction specifications required to perform work. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English. Ability to understand and manipulate systems computers. Capable of reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints. Weekend work and shift rotation may be required. Preferred: 4 years experience as a construction or maintenance carpenter is preferred. Pay Range: $25.35 - $39.32 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
