Position Special Education Teacher (K-6) – 1.00 FTE Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $52,341 - $61,805, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance. Start Date September 01, 2026 Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction to secondary students in a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, engagement, and a desire to learn and grow. Work collaboratively with other teachers and community members to ensure continued learning of relevant skills and authentic application of those skills. Support students as they develop a strong work ethic, pride in their work, and foundational skills identified by employers. Develop, grow, and promote the program to include all learners. Differentiating instruction to ensure all students experience success. Hold a commitment to promoting equity, practicing cultural responsiveness, and creating inclusive environments. Qualifications Current NYS certification in Special Education K-6 (or K-12). Broad skill set in effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels. Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards and Assessments, curriculum content, and accepted methods of instruction. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
