Senior Database Engineer

Envision Innovative Solutions is seeking a motivated, career-oriented, and customer-focused Senior Database Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This onsite position is responsible for the administration, optimization, security, and availability of enterprise database environments supporting mission-critical systems..

Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of database(s)
• Establish and maintain database user accounts
• Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
• Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes
• Evaluate requirements and recommends available DBMS products
• Provide server administration with a variety of database products that include Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
• Develop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
• Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability
• Support data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementation
• Coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineer (DBE)s
• Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views
Required Skills:
• Ten (10) years' experience as a DBA 
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional DBA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.​​​​​​
• Extensive experience administering and optimizing enterprise database environments, ensuring high availability, security, integrity, and performance across mission-critical systems.
• Expertise in Oracle and SQL Server database management, including performance tuning, disaster recovery, indexing, and backup/recovery.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with database performance optimization, capacity planning, and advanced troubleshooting in high-security environments.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, database design, and implementation of scalable data solutions.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering and infrastructure teams.
Security Clearance Requirement:
• Current/Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

The projected compensation range for this position is $200,000.00-$220,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories
