Medical Assistant Opportunity Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility in Mount Kisco, NY (10549). This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation! Specific Duties: Demonstrates clinical competence in the direct care of patients in established area(s) of practice, and assisting MDs with procedures Performs clinical duties within scope of practice complying with the accepted CareMount Medical and/or individual department standards, policies, and protocols Demonstrates a proactive approach to patient care, focusing on addressing each patient's individual and family needs at the time of service; communicates identified needs in a timely manner Directs and/or escorts patients to exam rooms in a timely manner Demonstrated clinical competence when assisting physician/mid-level healthcare professional and/or nurse during exams and office diagnostic procedures/treatments Performs authorized procedures competently (i.e. vital signs, vision screening, selected laboratory tests) as directed by physician or nurse in clinical practice area Seeks validation/guidance from physicians, mid-level healthcare professional and/or nurse when necessary Prepares e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies when instructed to do so by physician per CareMount Medical policy Inspects, cleans/prepares and processes instruments/equipment according to manufacturers' or CareMount Medical guidelines Processes specimens for transport to laboratory, ensuring that specimens are properly labeled and appropriate orders have been placed in NextGen Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of preferred experience High school graduate or GED equivalent Current BLS certification (through an approved American Heart Association Training Centre or the Proven good communication and customer service skills What Skills/Attributes Are Nice To Have, And Will Set A Candidate Apart? Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skills Knowledge of medical terminology required The ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies is required Good communication and customer service skills required Preferred Education. Experience & Skills At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant Additional Information: Location: Mount Kisco, NY (10549) Job Type: 3+ months contract to hire Schedule: Shift start & end times: 7:45 am-5:30 pm, Monday-Friday Pay Range: $20-$23/hr. on W2 Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
