Ultrasonographer Technologist

Ultrasound TechnologistPerforms basic diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by the physician and documents findings. Assists physicians with invasive procedures as needed. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.Essential FunctionsObtains a complete and comprehensive patient history. Operates ultrasound equipment competently to provide quality diagnostic studies that meets the requirements of established ultrasound protocols.Performs various diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by the referring physician and/or radiologists so that they meet the requirements of established ultrasound protocols.Documents quality images, including pathology noted during real time scanning. As necessary, assists physicians during invasive procedures.Maintains a clean work environment and stocks rooms with supplies as needed.Contacts service personnel and notifies management of malfunctioning equipment.Supports objectives set by lead ultrasonographer, imaging specialist, supervisor and/or manager. Assists imaging specialist / manager in credentialing and competencies set forth by Corewell Health and various regulatory agencies.Auditory capability to hear tone and pitch fluctuations such as that associated with Doppler, vascular and cardiac studies.Visual acuity associated with vascular doppler and flow studies. Have the corrected vision equivalent and ability necessary to perform, evaluate & determine appropriate, normal & abnormal, diagnosis for ultrasound.Assignments are moderately complex; follows established protocols and has some flexibility in exercising judgement within established parameters.
