Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Travel Nurse Athens, Texas
This travel role supports Labor and Delivery services with a focus on high-acuity maternal and fetal care, including triage, intrapartum management, postpartum support, and newborn assessment. Candidates must bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: 3x12 Nights (6pm6am); 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; Advanced Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification (advanced), AWHONN certification (beginner), and AWHONN certification (intermediate); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; state or compact license in hand at time of submittal; must complete core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing; charting experience required; Electronic Health Record charting system experience (Epic) required
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience; trauma level I experience; trauma level II experience; prior travel experience
• Additional Information:
  • Staffing coverage includes 6 weekends per contract (nights Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
  • Orientation: 24 orientation hours
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Skills include (as listed): administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, antepartum and intrapartum care, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives and antiseizure medication support, APGAR scoring, assisting with high-risk delivery and amniocentesis, assisting with cesarean section procedures (including circulation/recoveries), fetal monitoring (External Fetal Heart Monitoring and Internal Fetal Monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration), magnesium sulfate therapy, oxytocin and NST (Non Stress Tests)/OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests), postpartum hemorrhage care, and newborn assessment including hypoglycemia support
