Location/In-Office: Stamford, CT (hybrid 4 days in-office, Fridays WFH)

A leading global investment firm with $100B+ in assets under management is seeking an experienced Global Head of Payroll to join its Human Resources organization. This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for overseeing payroll operations across a large, geographically dispersed employee population.

The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of U.S. and international payroll, partner closely with Finance and HR leadership, and work with external payroll providers across multiple jurisdictions.

The Role

• Lead end-to-end payroll operations for a large global employee population
• Oversee U.S. multi-state payroll as well as payroll processes across international locations
• Review payroll calculations, employee changes, deductions, taxes and funding to ensure accuracy
• Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliations, reporting, accounting and related processes
• Coordinate with external payroll providers and regional partners to resolve issues and maintain service levels
• Manage payroll calendars, year-end processes, tax filings, audits and other regulatory requirements
• Maintain strong payroll controls, procedures and documentation
• Support Workday timekeeping, reporting and payroll-related data management
• Serve as a key point of contact for employee payroll and timekeeping questions
• Analyze payroll data and identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency
• Participate in payroll-related implementations, system enhancements and other HR projects
• Provide guidance and oversight to an offshore payroll team member

Qualifications:

• 8–12+ years of payroll experience , including significant U.S. AND international exposure
• Strong hands-on experience with multi-state U.S. payroll
• Experience supporting payroll across multiple countries and working with international providers
• ADP and Workday experience required
• Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Experience managing or mentoring others is preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with HR, Finance and outside vendors
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with significant responsibility and visibility
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: approximately $130,000–$150,000 + competitive bonus
