Nursing Assistant - Day Shift 3x12.0

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day Shift - 3x12.0 hours per week.

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, ensuring compliance with established safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient and employee safety, with a focus on the 10 Foot Circle of Safety.
• Assist patients in menu selections based on prescribed diets and food preferences, and manage patient diets within the menu management system.
• Update and validate patient diet changes, menu labeling, and assist in maintaining proper levels of office supplies.
• Communicate with the department regarding patient care and food service issues.
• Perform clerical assignments in the Food & Nutrition office, including faxing, answering phones, filing, and photocopying.
• Assist the tray line, food service aides, or catering as needed.
• Participate in in-services and departmental meetings.
• Complete additional tasks as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• BLS certification required for specific locations unless mandated by state regulations.
