Medical Assistant - Pain Management

Provide patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of practice and follow policies, procedures, training, and competency requirements Perform rooming and visit tasks, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings Assist providers with or perform ordered procedures Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, packing, lab-order preparation, and results tracking Conduct point-of-care testing and CLIA-approved waived laboratory and practice-specific diagnostic testing Safely administer medications and vaccines Handle medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety and regulatory logs, patient messaging, supply ordering, scheduling, and referrals Communicate effectively, collaborate with team members, and elevate appropriately Maintain a clean, stocked, and properly functioning work environment and equipment Assist with teammate training and onboarding Serve as a role champion or committee member when assigned Provide age-appropriate care based on patient status and developmental needs Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, structured clinical military training per DD214, or EMT for Greater Charlotte Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required for Greater Charlotte Recognized or certified as a CMA or RMA by an approved national organization Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, Windows navigation, email, and exposure to electronic medical records systems Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine-hand manipulation skills Ability to operate necessary job equipment Ability to meet physical demands including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and reaching above shoulders Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment when exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body-fluid hazards Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in patient care within the Medical Assistant scope, including vital signs, medication administration, and laboratory testing.
