Housekeeping - Houseperson

Job Description Reports To: Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor General Purpose: Cleans and prepares public areas according to an established standard of cleaning to assure guest satisfaction and the overall appearance of the property. Responsibilities Walk all assigned floors at the beginning and end of shift, removing service trays, trash, and noting areas that need immediate cleaning. Remove soiled linen, terry, and trash from the housekeeping carts and take them to appropriate locations; recycle bottles, cans, and papers in appropriate receptacles. Maintain all carpets through extraction and spotting methods. Protect furniture from wear & tear through preventative maintenance, including rotating mattresses and box springs. Deep‑clean guest rooms: carpet, chairs, vacuuming behind furniture, metal vents, and tile floors in bathroom areas. Clean all public areas, elevators, service areas, stairwells, etc., while maintaining safety and security. Aid housekeepers as needed with removal of rollways and stripping of rooms. Report any missing/found items, damages, and maintenance issues. Respond to guest requests and questions. Report guest issues and complaints to Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor. Stock linen closets with supplies (soap, shampoo, etc.). Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager. Qualifications Knowledge of carpet care, tile care, buffer machines, and extractors is a plus. Ability to work a flexible schedule; times needed vary based on occupancy. Must pass a background check. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb stairs numerous times daily. Must understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be able to bend down and get on and off the floor numerous times per day. Education and Formal Training High School Diploma or GED. Experience Experience is a plus, but not required.
