DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, CONSERVATION & FORESTRY BUREAU OF PARKS AND LANDS LABORER I Opening Date: May 29, 2026 Closing Date: End of the day June 11, 2026 Location: Rangeley Lake State Park Position Number: 01720-2821 Position Type: Seasonal - 12 Weeks* Class Code: 8001 Grade: 03 (Operations/Maintenance) Salary: $15.10 - $17.72 Per Hour *Season: 01720-2821 - 12 Weeks - Approximately 05/03/2026-07/25/2026 Interested candidates need to submit a Direct Hire Application and a detailed Resume through PRISM. BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is maintenance and personal services work in providing services to park users at a state park or day use area. Work may also include directing and overseeing the activities of a small crew of maintenance and operations personnel. Work is performed under general supervision. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. *Some positions may request possession of a valid Class C Maine Motor Vehicle Operator’s License prior to completing permanent status. The following general information pertains to seasonal employment at Maine State Parks: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (Lifeguards must be 16 or older) Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or have legal authority to work in the U.S. Housing is provided in the Penobscot River Corridor and the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. In general, housing is not available at the other parks. Most positions are scheduled to work 40 hours each week, with weekends and some holidays required. Parks seasonal positions are required to wear uniforms which are provided by the agency. Job offers to a new hire are conditional upon verification of credentials, criminal record, and driver’s license check if applicable. Three references must be made available at the interview to include at least one (1) work-related reference. Anyone who meets the minimum qualifications of the position may apply. The Department is not responsible for late receipt due to mail service or faxing malfunctions. Dental Insurance – The State of Maine pays 100% of employee-only dental premiums ($365.28 annual value). Retirement Plan – The State of Maine contributes 14.11% of pay to the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS), on behalf of the employee. Gym Membership Reimbursement – Improve overall health with regular exercise and receive up to $40 per month to offset this expense. Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts – Set aside money pre-tax to help pay for out-of-pocket health care expenses and/or daycare expenses.
