Position Overview \n
\nWe are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurosurgeon to provide comprehensive neurosurgical care. The role involves direct patient care (approx. 85%) and administrative responsibilities (approx. 15%).\n
\n
Qualifications \n
\n- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.\n
\n- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Neurosurgery (ABNS).\n
\n- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).\n
\n- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).\n
\n- Adherence to Facility Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations.\n
\n
Responsibilities \n
\n- Provide neurosurgical care in clinic and operating room settings.\n
\n- Case load: approx. 8 patients per clinic and 3 procedures per surgical session.\n
\n- Perform a wide range of neurosurgical procedures (spinal fusions, disk surgeries, laminectomies, cranial procedures, peripheral nerve surgeries, microsurgery add-ons).\n
\n- Conduct intraoperative and postoperative follow-up, including SICU rounds and morbidity/mortality conferences.\n
\n- Provide consultative services and ensure procedures are scheduled within 30 days of consult.\n
\n- Deliver discharge education and coordinate follow-up care.\n
\n- Participate in quality improvement meetings and complete QA/QI documentation.\n
\n- Ensure compliance with patient safety and infection control standards.\n
\n
Work Schedule \n
\n- VA Business Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday.\n
\n- Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.\n
\n- OR Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (5–6 OR days per month).\n
\n- On-Call Coverage: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM on scheduled OR days.\n
\n- Phone availability within 15 minutes.\n
\n- On-site presence within 60 minutes.\n
