Job Description

Join a skilled team as a Diesel Technician, where you will maintain and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles in a clean, organized, and fast-paced shop. You will use your hands-on mechanical expertise and diagnostic skills to deliver high-quality workmanship while supporting a customer-focused service environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

• Conduct preventative maintenance services to ensure vehicle reliability, safety, and optimal performance.

• Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain detailed and accurate service records for all work performed.

• Communicate repair findings, recommendations, and status updates clearly to service advisors and relevant team members.

• Follow all safety procedures and requirements while working with tools, equipment, and vehicles.

• Assist with welding tasks, such as stick or MIG welding, for rebuilding underbodies or frames when needed.

• Support a clean, organized, and professional shop environment by properly handling tools, parts, and equipment.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of diesel, automotive, or mechanical experience in a related industry.

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools used for diesel and automotive engine diagnostics and repair.

• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to work on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and related components.

• Solid understanding of hydraulic systems and their operation in medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

• Proficient knowledge of electrical systems, including the ability to read and interpret schematics.

• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.

• Experience in diesel engine maintenance and automotive maintenance.

• Ability to use mechanical and electrical tools safely and effectively for testing and repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Diesel or Automotive Engine Diagnostics and Repair.

• Welding skills, including stick or MIG welding, for rebuilding underbodies or frames.

• Experience in diesel maintenance and automotive service.

• Experience working in a clean, organized shop environment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Effective communication skills for collaborating with service advisors and team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ringgold, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
