Learn more at Responsibilities The Material Management/Buyer is responsible for the procurement of material and services as assigned by the Director/Manager of Material Management.- Must understand inventory control in order to minimize stock and non-stock orders.- Must be able to communicate with department managers regarding discrepancies, pricing, substitutes and backorders.- Must be able to prioritize duties for optimum productivity.- Able to process and organize purchase orders and receiving documents for Accounts Payable Qualifications Education and Work Experience

- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- AA Degree preferred.
- Previous recent hospital experience as a buyer preferred.
- Knowledge involving the acquisition of equipment, supplies and policies and procedures.
- Ability to utilize Material Management Information system (MMIS) and EDI.
- Strong communication skills.
