About the Position

Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist Profession: Speech and Language Pathology Specialty: Inpatient/Outpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 9 hours (M, T, W, F: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Thursdays off) Experience: 2+ years of pediatric SLP experience, VFSS experience, inpatient and outpatient experience License: Current state SLP License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Must-Have: - Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology - Pediatric experience - Ability to work independently and hit the ground running Description: Under general supervision, responsible for providing speech, language, and dysphagia services to patients. Includes evaluations, planning individual patient care programs, treatments, and home programs. Consistently uses an outward mindset and strives to accomplish goals in a way that helps others achieve theirs. Performs patient evaluations and administers treatment for speech language and swallowing disorders. Designs and revises plans of care and goals. Provides written and/or verbal reports to physicians. Completes documentation according to unit standards and regulatory requirements. Participates in in-service education programs. Keeps abreast of current trends and developments in speech and swallowing disorders. Engages in related activities such as patient care committees, case conferences, and community education projects. Attends staff meetings. Responsible for inpatient services such as bedside swallow studies, diet recommendations, and monitoring. Conducts outpatient VFSS in addition to outpatient speech therapy evaluation and intervention for the adult population. Candidate must be able to work independently and effectively manage responsibilities. Dress code is business casual or matching scrubs. Rotating weekends for inpatient services may be required.
