About the Position

Start Date: October 5, 2026 (additional orientation dates available bi-weekly)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week with every other weekend rotation. Holiday rotation includes 2 federal holidays per year and limited spring/winter holidays (1 holiday off may be requested).

Highlights:

• 32-bed post-surgical unit specializing in colorectal, major abdominal, urological, orthopedic, and plastic surgery procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with focus on specialty wound care, ostomy management, and surgical drains
• Epic charting system with test-out option available
• Preferred contract length of 26-51 weeks; 13-week contracts considered on a case-by-case basis

• Float opportunities to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient floors

Requirements:

• Active Kansas or Multistate RN license required (no hits allowed, no exceptions)
• AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or stepdown nursing experience required
• ADN or BSN degree
• No first-time travelers; previous travel experience required
• Vaccination requirements: Immunity documentation for Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella (titer or proof of vaccination series); TDaP vaccine; Influenza vaccine or exemption during flu season; TB documentation
