Compensation: Commission-Based
Commission Payment Schedule: Last day of each month for commissions earned during the prior month
Work Location: Primarily remote and community-based
Benefits: Independent contractors are not eligible for employee benefits

Position Overview

Assisted Living Locators of Wake County is seeking an experienced, motivated, and relationship-oriented Senior Living Advisor / Business Development Consultant to develop referral relationships, assist families with senior living and care decisions, and generate qualified placement opportunities.

The Independent Contractor will operate with substantial independence and flexibility while representing Assisted Living Locators of Wake County in a professional manner. The primary focus of the engagement is business development, relationship cultivation, lead generation, family consultation, and successful senior living placements.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the senior care industry, excellent communication skills, an established professional network, and the ability to independently develop business opportunities within the assigned market.

Primary Services & Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Referral Relationships

·       Develop and cultivate professional relationships with healthcare providers, social workers, senior living communities, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, elder-care professionals, and other potential referral sources.

·       Identify and pursue new business and referral opportunities.

·       Maintain ongoing communication with referral partners and professional contacts.

·       Build and expand a network of senior care resources and referral sources.

·       Represent Assisted Living Locators or Wake County professionally when interacting with referral partners and members of the community.

2. Family Consultation & Senior Living Guidance

·       Respond to and consult with families seeking senior living and care options.

·       Assess a family’s stated needs, preferences, priorities, and circumstances.

·       Provide families with appropriate senior living and care options based on their individual needs.

·       Assist families in evaluating communities and available care options.

·       Facilitate introductions and communication between families and appropriate senior living providers.

·       Maintain appropriate follow-up with families throughout the placement process.

3. Community Outreach & Networking

·       Independently identify and participate in appropriate networking opportunities, community events, senior expos, educational programs, and professional gatherings.

·       Develop strategies to increase awareness of Assisted Living Locators of Wake County within the assigned market.

·       Establish relationships with organizations and professionals serving older adults and their families.

·       Participate in educational and community initiatives related to senior care, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and aging.

·       Utilize social media and other appropriate communication channels to increase community awareness and engagement.

4. Marketing & Business Development Activities

·       Develop and distribute appropriate communications and newsletters to referral sources and community contacts.

·       Identify opportunities for digital and community-based marketing.

·       Conduct independent market research to identify new referral sources, market opportunities, and potential business relationships.

·       Provide recommendations to the company regarding business development and marketing opportunities.

·       Coordinate with company representatives when appropriate to support broader marketing initiatives.

5. Lead Development & Follow-Up

·       Pursue and develop qualified leads and referral opportunities.

·       Maintain appropriate follow-up with prospective clients and referral sources.

·       Organize and maintain business development contacts and referral relationships.

·       Distinguish between self-generated business opportunities and leads directly referred by the company or another identified source.

·       Promptly communicate material placement activity and client developments to the company.

6. CRM & Information Management

·       Maintain accurate information regarding referral sources, prospective clients, senior living communities, and placement activity.

·       Enter or provide necessary information for the company’s CRM system in a timely manner.

·       Communicate updates regarding senior living communities, including changes in pricing, services, availability, personnel, and other relevant information.

·       Maintain appropriate documentation related to business development and placement activity.

7. Reporting & Communication

·       Provide the company with reasonable reports concerning referral activity, consultations, business development efforts, and placements.

·       Communicate material client and referral information necessary to facilitate successful placements.

·       Participate in periodic business discussions regarding placement activity, market opportunities, and client needs.

·       Maintain professional and timely communication with company representatives.

8. Industry Knowledge & Professional Development

·       Maintain current knowledge of senior living communities, care options, industry developments, and local market conditions.

·       Stay informed regarding changes that may affect senior living placement opportunities.

·       Independently pursue appropriate educational and professional development opportunities.

·       Maintain a high level of professionalism and industry knowledge when working with families and referral partners.
