We are seeking an experienced culinary specialist to join our dedicated kitchen team! You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our professional catering kitchen. Much of this job is trainable, however, knife skills are important. ServSafe certification is helpful, but not required. There is room to grow in this position. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. As you know, many Chef/ Cook positions require you to work a lot of nights/weekends and in a stressful restaurant environment! Not at Shoup's! If you are looking for a change of pace, this job is for you. The world of Catering allows you time to plan and prep for an event, be creative with menus, and allows you to have a work life balance. Also our cooking is mainly days, with finishing your work on most Saturdays before 5:00pm. This leaves you with more free time for your personal life. At Shoup's, we have a family friendly and family first policy. This position comes with a benefits package with paid days off, vacation, sick and personal days, life insurance, 1/2 medical insurance paid, store discounts etc. We do not usually work on Holiday Weekends to allow our employees to plan and spend time with their families. Responsibilities:

• Prepare all served food
• Plan food production to coordinate with our kitchen manager
• Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cooking with a passion for culinary arts
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
• Knife skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team or independently
• Self Starter and Dependable
• Leadership qualities
• Creativity and willingness to develop new menu ideas and options
