Hours: .9 Category: SEIU-Service Salary Range: Min $23.01 - Max $36.57/hrly, DOE Job Overview Responsible for a variety of housekeeping duties in and around the hospital. Assists where necessary to provide a clean and sanitary environment. All other duties as requested or required. Responsibilities Performs daily patient room cleaning and patient room discharge cleaning according to Environmental Services procedures. Collects and transfers trash and soiled linen from the hospital to designated areas. Empties waste receptacles and linen holders. Clears trash/linen collection carts and maintains them clean. Sweeps, dusts, mops, and polishes floors in designated areas. Washes walls, ceilings, windows, sinks, cabinets, and other plumbing fixtures. Refills disposable supplies such as towels, soap, and toilet paper. Monitors quality, reports repair/maintenance needs, and inspects own work daily. Completes all special cleaning assignments as assigned or necessary. Attends all department in‑service and education meetings or reads posted meeting minutes. Follows policies, procedures, and practices outlined in the Employment Policies and Procedures Manual. Performs all other duties as assigned. Physical and Ergonomic Demands Ability to stand majority of shift; walk ~5 hours. Push/pull trash and linen carts requiring ~48 lbs. Bending, stretching, stooping, reaching overhead, twisting wrists, lifting up to 32 lbs. Exposure to cleaning solutions, chemicals, blood and body fluids. Transport housekeeping supplies within area. Clean areas up to 10 feet above floor level with extension tool. Qualifications Minimum 6 months of commercial housekeeping experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication in English. Working knowledge of computers preferred. Demonstrated good interpersonal skills with diverse population. Ready to work assigned shifts and weekends. Works independently.
