Position Summary As a Mobile Oncology Scheduler, you'll be the vital connection between patients and the care they need, orchestrating seamless medical appointments that bring together providers, facilities, and essential resources. You'll build meaningful relationships through every interaction—whether by phone, email, or digital communication—ensuring patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their care journey. Location and Schedule Main Location: 3838 N Campbell Ave Bldg.1 Tucson, AZ 85704 Alternate location may be requested at 1891 W Orange Grove Rd. Tucson, AZ 85704 Schedule: Mon‑Fri 9:00–5:30PM after training Potential for up to 40 hours per week Core Functions Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, facility resources, ancillary staff, records, referrals, authorizations, and payers. Receives and initiates calls to/from patients, providers, provider offices, and facilities, following all established scheduling procedures and protocols to ensure patients receive the care they need, when and where they need it. Receives physician’s orders and effectively schedules and reschedules appointments, tests, and/or procedures using various electronic medical record/scheduling software systems according to protocols established by clinical staff and scheduling standards. Identifies alternative scheduled solutions when the patient’s preference is not available, while adhering to procedures and protocols and ensuring patient safety. Provides patients with information, pre‑ and post‑test instruction, and directions to appointment locations. Answers questions as necessary within guidelines and protocols and refers questions to clinical staff as appropriate. Effectively communicates and builds impactful relationships through written, digital, and verbal channels with patients, facilities, providers, and clinical colleagues to ensure an easy, empathetic, solution‑oriented patient experience, including but not limited to phone, chat, email, electronic medical record messaging, and other digital channels. Anticipates patient and provider needs and responds accordingly. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Two years of scheduling experience in a physician’s office or hospital. Medical terminology may be required for some assignments. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with commonly used office software and with software typically used for medical practice management and scheduling. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of ICD‑9, CPT, and HCPCS coding. Sound working knowledge of various types of insurance plans and/or worker’s compensation. Bi‑lingual in Spanish (preferred for some assignments). Additional related education and/or experience.
