In this role, you will leverage expertise in .NET Core, C#, Web APIs, SQL Server, Entity Framework, Azure Cloud services, and DevOps practices. You will collaborate across business and technology teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications while driving engineering excellence through automation and modern, AI-assisted development practices.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain applications using C#, .NET Core, REST APIs, SQL Server, and Entity FrameworkDevelop, deploy, and manage Azure cloud-based applications and servicesDesign and implement scalable microservices architectures and modern web-based user interfacesBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps best practicesUse enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement across the software development lifecycleEvaluate emerging trends to inform solution design and strategic innovationCollaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutionsTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issuesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in software development using C# and .NET Core3+ years of experience building and consuming RESTful Web APIs3+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server database development, optimization, and performance tuning1+ Year hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Key Vault, Azure Service Bus/Event Grid, or Azure SQL Database)Preferred QualificationsExperience with cloud-native application development and CI/CD automation pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps)Experience with Entity Framework (Code First / Database First) and microservices-based application designDemonstrated experience utilizing modern AI-assisted development tools and techniques to accelerate code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and troubleshootingDemonstrated understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and clean coding principlesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)Exposure to application monitoring, observability (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights), and performance optimizationExperience with secure application development and DevSecOps practicesMicrosoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect)*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
