Job Description: This position involves working in a medical environment where the candidate will be responsible for managing patients independently. The role requires certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS. Common diagnoses include chest pain, respiratory issues, dehydration, orthopedic problems, and potential stroke cases. The candidate must be able to work with various medical equipment and manage patients without direct supervision. The unit does not have a separate triage area or psych/seclusion rooms, and security is not in-house 24/7. The average number of patients treated per day in the ER is 25, with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4. The unit does not have respiratory therapists on-site 24/7, and RNs are required to manage ventilators, CPAP, and heated high flow machines. RNs are also required to read their own tele strips. The unit has an X-ray and CT available in the ER, but there is no transport service. RNs draw labs, and the scrub color is navy. The unit requires floating to sister facilities as needed and offers every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week period, along with one summer and one winter holiday off.
