Job Summary
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Registered Nurse (RN) New Britain, Connecticut. This role supports respiratory-focused care within a Long Term Acute Care setting, caring for vent-dependent patients in a medical environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12H Nights | 7:00 PM 7:30 AM; every other weekend is required; minimum 36.0 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS); 0 years of experience; ability to provide care for respiratory-focused, vent-dependent patients (12 years of experience is indicated as preferred/strongly desired in the posting)
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); prior travel experience; RN experience with respiratory/vented patients
• Responsibilities: Provide patient care for respiratory-focused, vent-dependent patients; perform nurse responsibilities including IV starts, IV drips, medication administration (including blood administration), electrocardiograms (EKGs), medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, tracheostomy care, suctioning, straight catheterization, Foley care, port access, central line dressing changes, and wound measurements
• Additional Information: Nurses do not manage ventilators; respiratory therapy (RT) handles ventilation. The posting requests profiles to be clean and easy to follow, and notes that any issues may be returned for correction.
