Director of Operations

Jet Avion Corporation is located at HEICO’s corporate headquarters in Hollywood, Florida and specializes in the supply of various platforms of aircraft and engine PMAs. ROLE: The Director, Operations reports to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing the organization's Quality, Continued Operational Safety (COS) Engineering, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and Logistics functions. This position serves as a critical liaison among internal departments, corporate teams, customers, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination across all operational activities. The Director, Operations is responsible for both strategic leadership and daily execution, driving operational excellence through process optimization, continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, cost management, and customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Lead the primary operational interface between the Corporate Sales organization and the Business Unit, ensuring alignment on forecasting, demand planning, order fulfillment, and customer issue resolution. Lead and maintain ownership of inventory management strategies, policies, and performance. Oversee order fulfillment activities, inventory transactions, transportation and logistics management. Oversee supply chain activities for both new and established products, ensuring optimal product availability, quality, customer service, and cost efficiency. Ensure all Operational functions meet KPIs such as on-time delivery, quality metrics, and budget performance while also maintaining compliance with: JA Quality Management System (QMS) JA Safety Management System (SMS) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations Applicable COS guidance and regulatory requirements Drive a culture focused on total cost of ownership while balancing service, quality, safety and operational efficiency. Analyze operational and business data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, enabling proactive decision-making and continuous improvement. Facilitate timely and effective communication among internal and external stakeholders to optimize performance and resolve operational issues. Identify, champion, and implement process improvements and innovative solutions that enhance operational performance and cross-functional collaboration. Develop and manage departmental budgets by forecasting expenses, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions to achieve financial objectives. Build and maintain a high-performing team through effective recruiting, onboarding, training, development, and succession planning. Maintain professional and technical expertise through continued education, industry engagement, networking, and participation in professional organizations Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Yes Requirements EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a related degree from an accredited college or university required EXPERIENCE Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, quality or related operational leadership roles. Minimum of 5 years of management experience leading cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience in Sales & Operations Planning in a fast paced, high-volume, and dynamic environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, inventory management, and quality systems. Aerospace experience strongly preferred. Proven track record of implementing operational best practices and driving measurable business results. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS N/A KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES Language/Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, presentations and business communications. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, leadership teams and external stakeholders. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency. Mathematical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities. Ability to analyze operational metrics, financial data, forecasts and business performance indicators. Ability to apply statistical, financial, and business analysis techniques to support decision-making. Reasoning Abilities: Ability to evaluate complex situations, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Organizational Skills : Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
