Technical Support Engineer – Residential Energy Storage (BESS) Location: North Germany (Hamburg area preferred) About the Company Our client is a global leader in renewable energy technology, specializing in solar PV solutions, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and smart energy management solutions. As part of their continued expansion in the European market, they are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to strengthen their product support team and support installers, distributors, and customers across Germany. About the Role The Technical Support Engineer will provide pre- and post-sales technical support for residential energy storage systems across the German market. This role acts as the technical bridge between: Sales teams and channel partners Installers and distributors Customers and global technical teams You will support high-quality installations, solve technical challenges, and contribute to the growth of the residential energy storage business. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide remote and on-site technical support to installers, distributors, and customers Diagnose and resolve system configuration, integration, and commissioning issues Support complex technical cases and coordinate with global HQ teams when required Maintain technical case documentation and reports Conduct technical training sessions for installers and partners Support installer onboarding and certification activities Develop and update technical training materials Ensure partners meet product quality and safety standards Technical Solution Support Support system design discussions and technical recommendations Assist sales teams with technical proposals and customer discussions Provide guidance on system compatibility, configuration, and regulatory requirements Product Feedback & Improvement Collect feedback from the field regarding product performance and installation experience Identify recurring technical issues and improvement opportunities Work closely with product and R&D teams to improve solutions for the European market Requirements 3+ years of experience in solar PV, residential battery storage (BESS), electrical systems, or related industries Strong understanding of residential electrical systems and energy storage integration Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting is highly desirable Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Comfortable delivering technical presentations and installer training Independent working style with strong ownership Willingness to travel 40% within Germany and occasionally Europe Experience with CRM systems and MS Office tools is preferred Language Requirements At least C1 German speaker and Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken) Highly Preferred Electrical engineering background or relevant technical qualification Experience working with installers, distributors, or energy solution providers Experience in residential PV + BESS systems Why Join?
