Material Manager

Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Location: Joint Base Andrews, MD Candidate must have significant logistics management and proven leadership experience. Experience/knowledge of U.S. Government funding and contracting mechanisms desired. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum of 8 years of experience in material operations and 5 years supervisory/management experience. Job Description Position Purpose: Manage inventory management and/or production control operations of all related material functions. Coordinate any efforts as assigned by the department senior manager, director and/or general manager. Responsibilities Manage the company's efforts to support internal and external customers through use of materials team assets including inventory control, shipping, receiving, purchasing, planning, quality, and off-site functions. Stay abreast of industry regulations for parts handling, export licensing, customs, anti-boycott procedures. Ensure materials adequately stored and controlled; comply with Department of State, ITAR and FAA regulations. Control internal and external costs for all material shipped to and from the company. Plan inventory and purchased part needs, ensuring timely disbursement to aircraft. Manage subordinate personnel; provide guidance and training to maintain required skill sets and knowledge. Direct and guide operation and scheduling prioritization of receiving and shipping processes for company and customer assets. Maintain daily contact with departmental management for project planning, information gathering, and problem solving. Ensure departmental compliance with quality improvement processes. Track, analyze, and report production schedule position to master schedule. Coordinate activities to ensure materials are available for production. Utilize Lean principles to evaluate and improve processing and work flows. Where applicable at sites: manage and publish daily activity meetings with departments; work with senior managers/ directors on tactical projects; control scrap/salvage program; monitor inventory cycle count; maintain petty cash account. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Knowledge of governmental regulations and interpretations; ensure compliance with corporate, federal, and international regulations including FAA/EASA, Import/Export, Quality Control, Hazmat, and Traffic/Material Handling Standards. Knowledge of MRP/ERP planning systems (varies with site). Knowledge of basic supply chain management: master planning, detailed scheduling, execution, and control of operations. Knowledge of international conversions of weight, measures, and monetary exchanges. Certified DOT HAZMAT awareness 181 preferred. Practitioner of Lean tools preferred. English language proficiency: read, write, speak, and understand English.
