Automation Eng Tech Team Lead

Job Summary Develops, designs, builds and tests robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. Creates an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human-robot interaction. Works with cross-functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications. General Profile Requires specialized expertise in technical processes or procedures Completes assignments and facilitates the work activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area May act as a lead, providing subject matter guidance to team members but is not a supervisor Works autonomously within established procedures and practices; proposing improvements to processes and methods as needed May also be in charge of leading training for employees Performs manual tasks according to established procedures Essential Functions Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components. Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components. Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings. Investigates and troubleshoots defects or bugs, complete repairs and provides preventative maintenance. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Problem-solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical skills. Leadership skills. Physical Requirements Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift.
