With more than 20,000 homes across 47+ markets, 25+ build-to-rent communities, and continued expansion on the horizon, we are more than a leader in the industry—we are a company that puts people and communities at the heart of everything we do.Join a purpose-driven team where your work creates opportunity, sparks innovation, and helps families across the country feel truly at home.Primary ResponsibilitiesComplete post-occupancy repairs, renovations, and general maintenance in single-family rental homesResolve maintenance issues efficiently and professionally while maintaining the property to company standardsPerform preventative, corrective, deferred, and emergency maintenance on assigned propertiesAddress repair and renovation needs in occupied homes following move-in or service requestsCollaborate with property management and the Maintenance Field Manager to complete service needs efficientlyComplete assigned punch lists and correct deficiencies identified during inspections or resident occupancyDocument work completed in the work order system and report to supervisorObserve safety protocols and report unsafe conditions to managementProvide professional, courteous service and show empathy when responding to resident concernsUse equipment and materials in compliance with OSHA and company standardsOther duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadership teamSkills & Competencies3+ years of maintenance or handyman experienceKnowledge of general construction, home repair, and renovation practicesWorking knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems (preferred)Fair Housing Certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)HVAC Certification (preferred)Strong customer service and communication skillsOrganized and capable of managing multiple work orders efficientlyStrong technology acumen with the ability to learn and adapt to various apps and software toolsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); advanced knowledge preferredValid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation for site inspections and other dutiesReliable personal transportation for traveling to job sites and picking up suppliesOwnership of basic handyman tools requiredEssential Job FunctionsDaily and weekly work order completion rate, number of rescheduled service appointments, number of repeat visits to resolve the same issue, resident satisfaction with maintenance experiencePhysical RequirementsCapable of working extended hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. Able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice. Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed. Position may involve sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. Must also be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary. Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills. Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.Environmental RequirementsMust be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
