Aerospace Avionics & Cable Harness Assembly Technologist

San Diego, CA | $32–$34/hour

Is This You?

• Do you have 3+ years of solder assembly and thrive under a microscope?
• Have you spent 5+ years operating SMT, AOI, X‑Ray, or Parylene equipment?
• Is your J-STD-001 certification current and put to use daily?
• Can you read schematics and mechanical drawings and turn them into flawless builds?
• Do you obsess over workmanship to NASA and IPC standards?

If you answered yes, you’ll feel at home building the electro‑mechanical, optical, and harness assemblies that power spacecraft imaging systems—tech that’s already supported missions to Mars, the Moon, Jupiter, and more.

What You’ll Handle

• Precision assembly of electronic, mechanical, optical, and cable‑harness hardware
• Microscope soldering, rework, and execution of detailed work instructions
• Operation of SMT, AOI, X‑Ray, and Parylene systems
• Adherence to NASA and IPC workmanship requirements
• Prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and mechanical integration
• Complete, accurate production records within a cleanroom

Your Background

• 3+ years solder assembly experience
• 5+ years operating SMT, AOI, X‑Ray, or Parylene equipment
• Strong hand‑soldering and cable‑harness assembly capability
• Fluency in reading schematics and mechanical drawings
• J-STD-001 certification required
• Meticulous attention to detail

Must‑Have Proficiencies

• IPC Joint Industry Standard (IPC‑J‑STD)
• Microscope proficiency
• NASA‑STD‑8739
• ESD (electrostatic discharge) practices
