Job Summary

Genesis Windward Gardens is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and oversee the nursing department. The DON is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care, supervising nursing staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and managing the day-to-day clinical operations of the facility. This leadership role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to foster a collaborative and patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all nursing department operations.
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff to promote high-quality patient care.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Develop staffing plans and oversee scheduling to meet resident care needs.
• Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Oversee clinical documentation, policy implementation, and infection prevention practices.
• Manage nursing resources, departmental budgets, and operational goals.
• Participate in hiring, orientation, staff education, and performance evaluations.
• Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous quality improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License .
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Previous nursing leadership experience (Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, clinical operations, and quality improvement processes.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings.
• Experience with state surveys, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Travel Assignment
• 3 x 12-hour day shifts

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
