Desktop Technician

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Desktop Technician to join their IT support team in Phoenix, AZ. This is a three-month contract position, fully onsite work. Summary: This position is responsible for preparing, deploying, maintaining, and recovering end-user hardware while ensuring a positive support experience for internal employees. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on technical work, has strong organizational skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced onsite environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Image and deploy new desktop and laptop workstations
• Perform workstation rebuilds and hardware refresh activities
• Package, prepare, and ship equipment for employee deployments
• Manage hardware lifecycle activities within an asset management system
• Retrieve and track devices returned by users
• Decommission hardware and remove devices from the network when required
• Assist employees during onboarding by configuring and issuing new equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, operating system, and basic network issues
• Maintain accurate inventory records and asset documentation
• Receive shipments and restock hardware inventory as needed
• Support warehouse and hardware room operations, including inventory organization and tracking
• Participate in onsite team meetings and collaborate with IT support staff

• Business hours range from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Located in Phoenix, AZ
• Experience with desktop imaging and PC deployment technologies
• Experience maintaining asset tracking, inventory management, or IT asset systems
• Strong knowledge of PC hardware, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to package and ship equipment using standard carriers such as UPS
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
• Ability to work onsite 100% of the time

• CompTIA A+ certification
• Experience with Active Directory user and device management
• Experience using Microsoft SCCM or similar endpoint management tools

• Customer-service oriented with strong communication skills
• Detail-oriented and dependable
• Comfortable working in both technical support and inventory/warehouse environments
• Flexible and capable of handling a variety of hardware support responsibilities throughout the day
