Seasonal RN Program - ICU/CCU

Job Summary As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Essential Responsibilities Leadership: Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures; serves as a leader of the health care team; delegates tasks appropriately; demonstrates accountability; mentors, orients, coaches others; shares responsibility with subordinates; prioritizes, delegates, and supervises work assignments. Nursing Process: Develops and contributes to individualized plans of care; ensures multidisciplinary planning; monitors progress; revises plans; ensures standards of practice and effective discharge planning; ensures patient safety (medications, falls, decubitus, infection prevention); ensures optimal pain control. Documentation: Accurate, legible charting reflecting nursing process, interventions, and evaluations; use of computer systems; participation in performance improvement activities. Patient Care Experience: Provides customer service standards; promptly answers call lights, alarms, and requests; maintains confidentiality; supports clean and functional environment; treats families with courtesy and compassion; actively listens and meets identified needs. Minimum Qualifications MORENO VALLEY NURSING IN & OUT PATIENT SETTING REQUIREMENTS DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING / RADIOLOGY – 1‑year recent experience in PACU, ED or Critical Care; current ACLS card required. Procedural Sedation experience required; knowledge of medications; PALS for pediatric; proficient in IV therapy; may rotate through MRI, Nuclear Medicine, etc. Ability to take call with a 30‑minute response time. EMERGENCY (ED) – Current CA RN license; ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications; one year recent ED experience. ICU/CCU – Current CA RN license; ACLS, BLS; basic arrhythmia course; recent ICU/CCU experience; preferred PALS. Neonatal ICU – Current CA RN license; 1 year recent Level II NICU experience or KP NICU course; NRP card; BLS. Labor & Delivery – Current CA RN license; ACLS & NRP; recent L&D experience; advanced fetal monitoring. Operating Room – Current CA RN license; BLS & ACLS; recent OR experience; call 30‑min. Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit – Current CA RN license; ACLS & PALS; recent PACU/ED/CCU experience; call 30‑min. Certificates required for former Moreno Valley Community Hospital employees: Basic arrhythmia, ACLS, NRP, PALS. May be required to work rotating weekends. Basic Qualifications Minimum one year full‑time, recent experience as an RN within the past three years. Experience must be within the clinical area of specialty for the position of hire. Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program and completion of 917 hours supervised clinical training; or LVN with appropriate training; must complete Kaiser Permanente Nursing Orientation Program within 3 months of hire. Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course. License, Certification, Registration Registered Nurse License (California). Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Basic Life Support. Additional Requirements Temporary seasonal position, full‑time non‑benefitted for 5‑6 months. Applicants must complete the Kaiser Permanente Nursing Orientation Program. Employees acquired through purchase of Moreno Valley Community Hospital must meet previously listed qualification requirements. Preferred Qualifications BSN preferred. Notes May be part‑time or full‑time, day or night shift. Start date September 14, 2026 – February 21, 2027; end date 5 months from start. Union dues paying members of RN‑U, UHCP, or SEIU Local 121. Position non‑benefited, temporary; may float to other related departments. No more than five cancellations during the temporary obligation. One major holiday off guaranteed; all others required if needed. Transfers to another position within Kaiser Permanente not permitted during commitment. Temporary approximately 90 days.
