Radiation Oncology TherapistPosition Code: RadOncTher-6181Department: Cancer CenterSafety Sensitive: YESReports to: Chief Radiation TherapistExempt Status: NOShift: Per Diem will work a minimum of six (6) shifts in six (6) weeks and up to a maximum of 19 hours per weekPosition Purpose:All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI's vision of providing the region's best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.Key Responsibilities:Treatment delivery and IMRT process flowVerification simulation process flowSetup simulation process flowClinical treatment process flowTreatment delivery and imaging flow for SRS and SBRTDosimetry planning flowEnsures all departmental policies are metDemonstrates submission of accurate billing/treatment information to ensure compliance with related billing chargesDemonstrates radiation safety knowledge and compliance with state regulationsMaintains and ensures ACR practice parameters for radiation therapyFulfills the role and responsibilities of a licensed radiation therapistQualifications:Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program. Preferably from an educational institution approved by the ARRT, JCERT, or the ACR.Certification/Licensure:Current Arizona Medical Radiologic Technologist certificate/licensureCertification by American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) registry in Radiation TherapyCurrent BLS certification through the American Heart AssociationPreferences:Education: Associate's degree or Bachelors' with certification preferredSpecial Position Requirements:Exposure Categories:Category I: Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissuesOther potential hazard(s): possible exposure to chemical substances; possible exposure to hostile individualsRequires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity hand-eye coordinationDemonstrates excellent oral and written communication skillsRequires standing/sitting for extensive periods of timeOccasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 poundsRequires corrected vision and hearing to normal
