Shipping & Receiving Clerk - Position Overview
As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you won't just be moving boxes you'll be the critical hub of the warehouse floor! You will manage incoming inventory, prepare outgoing shipments, verify documentation, and ensure local and national shipments stay right on schedule.
Shipping & Receiving Clerk - Key Responsibilities
- Inbound & Outbound Logistics: Receive, unpack, inspect, and verify incoming freight against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Order Preparation: Safely package, label, and stage finished goods for freight and small-parcel transit (UPS, FedEx, LTL).
- Material Handling: Safely operate a pallet jack to stage materials and load/unload trucks.
- Inventory Tracking: Record incoming/outgoing shipments into the inventory management system with high accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse leads, customer service, and delivery carriers to resolve any shipping discrepancies quickly.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 13+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse logistics.
- Equipment: Previous experience operating a pallet jack.
- Tech-Savvy: Basic computer proficiency for data entry, printing bills of lading (BOLs), and printing shipping labels.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout your shift.
- Mindset: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.
