PRN Admissions and Intake Registered Nurse (RN) Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is actively hiring a PRN Admissions and Intake Registered Nurse (RN). We are seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled RN to join our Intake and Admissions team as a PRN. This role is critical in helping individuals and families access timely behavioral health care services while ensuring high-quality clinical assessment and admissions decisions. The RN may also assist with various units and lead groups as needed. The name Three Trails was selected to honor the historical significance of the city of Independence as the starting point for the Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails. The logo icon is a compass, symbolic of wayfinding and the personal journey to recovery. The groundbreaking for the new hospital was held in January 2025; beam topping in July 2025, and the facility is expected to open in the second half of 2026. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments. Evaluate patients for appropriate levels of care and admissions criteria. Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments. Coordinate and collaborate for all necessary information with physicians and other staff. Hospital Information Serve children, adolescents, adults, and seniors with innovative, evidence‑based inpatient behavioral health care focused on individual needs and comfort. Create more than 200 new, full‑time jobs including nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians, and administrative staff, when the facility is fully operational. Be located at the intersection of I‑70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children’s Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics. Feature 120 licensed beds. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the state of Missouri or Compact. Experience in behavioral health, assessments, crisis intervention, and admissions preferred. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision‑making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work 12‑hour shifts. PRNs with availability for evenings, overnight, and weekend coverage.
