Position Overview * Department: Cardiovascular ICU Stepdown - CVICU Stepdown * Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available * Full-Time Nights 7p to 7a * Full-Time Days 7a to 7p * Part-Time Nights 7p to 7a * Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham * Benefits for eligible positions include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more Th e Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham is an 8-bed stepdown unit provid ing care for patients recovering from cardiac , thoracic, and vascular surgeries as well as heart catheterization procedures. We provide certain care techniques like telemetry monitoring and advanced post-operative management. This unit ser ves as a transitional step between CVICU and other acute care units, offering nurses a unique opportunity to develop their nursing skills and cardiovascular expertise . What You Will Do Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. * Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. * Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. * Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. * Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: * BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. * Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required Education: * Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
