Park Maintenance Assistant, Seasonal (44834)

Job Details Location: Park Locations Vary Within the Park District - Park Ridge, IL 60068 Salary Range: $15.00 - $16.00 Hourly Overview The Park Ridge Park District has openings for Seasonal Park Maintenance staff to assist in the physical maintenance of the district’s buildings and grounds. Duties may include general landscape maintenance; operating a riding lawn mower, watering plants, general park and facility maintenance using various tools and physical labor, and other maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor or manager. Duties also involve contact with the general public and Park District staff. A pleasant demeanor and good judgment must be exercised in dealing with a broad variety of assignments. Qualifications No previous experience is necessary. Must have a good understanding of the English language and be able to communicate well with patrons and staff. Minimum age 18 to operate power equipment. Ability to regularly lift objects up to 50 pounds; a post-offer lift test required. Availability Seeking applicants to work 5 days a week, Monday through Sunday, up to 40 hours per week beginning in May through approximately the end of September.
