Job Summary

As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic at McCarthy Tire, you'll perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), diagnose mechanical issues, and repair or replace components on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work area, complying with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and complete moderately complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Provide guidance and support to other maintenance personnel as needed.
• Use vehicle diagnostic systems and onboard computer tools to identify faults and initiate repairs.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding additional work or any delays in repair timelines.
• Assess and repair structural or mechanical damage using industry best practices.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns via on-site service calls.
• Perform vehicle safety checks and general maintenance tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must provide your own tools suitable for heavy-duty vehicle repair.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience working on heavy-duty diesel trucks and special-purpose vehicles.
• Skilled in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficient with vehicle diagnostic tools and software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Industrial equipment maintenance experience is a plus.
