In-Home & Personal Caregiver

To cater personal care and companionship to seniors, disabled, and people with special needs and conditions, and to assist them in performing their daily activities, among other non‑medical services. Job Description Registered home caregivers are passionate individuals who will take joy in providing personal care to others in need. Some of the responsibilities and tasks may include: Catering to all personal care needs, and continuous observation, care and supervision, Setting up and facilitating a personalized activity program including recreational & spiritual activities inside and outside the house, Providing health‑related staffing, timely‑taking of prescription medications, watching for wrong dosage or missed doses, Managing daily routines such as bathing, dressing, toileting & incontinence care, Helping with personal hygiene, grooming, tooth brushing, nail cutting, Assisting with light housekeeping activities, room cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and mopping, organizing and cleaning closets, taking out trash, dishwashing, Performing laundry services, washing and drying of washable personal clothing, bed and bath linens, towels, Helping with a healthy, well‑balanced, diet‑specific meal & nutrition preparation, menu planning, recipe research, cooking, heating meals, table setting, monitoring fluid intake, providing healthy daily snacks, monitoring special diet, Providing companionship care, memory sharing, book reading, music listening, movie watching, Playing around and teaching how to use electronic devices, TV, CD player, DVD player, gaming, smart phone, iPad, iPod, laptop, Exercising, population health & wellness programs, Providing personal training and physiotherapy, Teaching how to use internet, browse pages, search for contents, save favorite materials, create accounts and be active on social media, Correspondence, making telephone calls, writing emails, writing letters, sending postcards, Running errands outside the house, shopping for personal items, walking outside, walking in the shopping malls, doing groceries, Ambulating and transportation to various appointments, barber, doctor visit, medication pick up, banking, mechanic shop, religious services, restaurants, family events, Planning visits to local recreational spots, tourist visits, landmarks, field trips, Non‑medical assistance to patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia, Parkinson’s, arthritis, diabetes, Caring for pets, Among others. Minimum Qualifications Must show compassion, empathy and have a passion for great customer service, Excellent interpersonal skills, Strong organizational skills, Being able to communicate in English, Moderate physical exertion on a regular and recurring basis, such as assisting clients in transfer activities and ambulation, and light housekeeping, Must be able to pass a criminal and background checks, Must be able to pass TB & drug tests, Work authorization status (visa, permanent residency, citizenship), and a second form of ID. Preferred Qualifications Being able to communicate in a secondary language such as Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Farsi and Arabic, Already registered with the Department of Social Services Home Care Aide Registry, Prior professional experience as a caregiver or home health aide, Prior experience working with seniors and elderlies, Prior experience or training with ambulation assistance, patients with mental or physical disabilities, Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, Parkinson’s patients, Arthritis patients, Diabetic patients, Prior experience with hospice care, CPR certificate, Open and flexible availability (being able to work various shifts, nights or weekends), Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
