This is a 30-bed Acuity Adaptable unit specializes in Ortho/Neuro, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Neurology, Urology, and Trauma. The patient population on this unit will vary from those with hip fractures, stroke, and surgical patients. This unit focuses on building and maintaining a strong foundation for acuity level care.

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

• Obtain Ortho, stroke, and med/surg certifications
• Develop strong bedside skills
• Time management & flexibility while managing patients ranging in acuity levels

• Recognized by Joint Commission as one of the select number of certified centers for hip and knew placements and as a Primary Stroke Center in the state of Indiana

Qualifications:

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
