Safety Specialist | West Point, NY

SSHO Position

HazTek is seeking an experienced SSHO to support a long-term federal construction project in West Point, NY. The SSHO will oversee daily safety operations, ensure compliance with project safety requirements, conduct site inspections, lead safety meetings, and support incident prevention efforts across the jobsite.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce the Site Safety & Health Plan (SSHP)
• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits
• Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Review AHAs and pre-task plans
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain safety documentation and reports
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and site-specific requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of construction safety experience
• OSHA 30 (within the last 5 years)
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• 24 hours of documented safety training within the last 5 years
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills
