JOB SUMMARY

The EVS Lead is responsible for providing supervision and guidance to staff to ensure that high levels of cleanliness, quality, and service are always achieved and maintained. Assist with state compliance relating to cleaning processes, waste removal, and infection control practices. The number of environmental service employees supervised will vary. This position will provide floor supervision and assure appropriate staffing levels. Responsible for reporting all pertinent information to departmental leadership and performing staff work as needed. Essential Functions Lead and oversee the Environmental services staff. Work closely with the supervisor and manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels for regular environmental services needs and special projects. Coordinate with the department manager on the daily work schedules, reassign staff during shortages to ensure proper coverage. Lead, direct, and train environmental services staff and new employees on Environmental Services equipment. Ensure adherence to the new employee retention program. Assist with employee training and re‑training. Document disciplinary problems and bring them to the attention of the department manager for appropriate action. Maintain a high quality appearance in assigned areas. Ensure that all areas are cleaned according to acceptable standards. Keep appropriate levels of chemicals and supplies on hand, properly stored, and efficiently used, and place orders when required. Keep cleaning equipment in good working condition and bring any equipment issues to the attention of the department manager. Perform all other duties as assigned for staffing shortages or special needs. Allocate resources, supplies, labor, and services to meet fiscal departmental budgetary guidelines on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis in the absence of the supervisor. Maintain and build relationships with key personnel. Converse with key personnel on a regular basis, develop good professional relationships, and respond to requests and concerns with consistent follow‑up action. Participate in required joint inspections with key personnel. Perform other duties as assigned. Education High School Diploma or GED (candidate may be in process of achieving GED). Required. Other / Certificate, Basic College Courses Preferred. Technical Training Diploma/Degree, Vocational/Specialized training Post High School Preferred. Experience 1 year Environmental Service experience. Required.
