CAD Drafter

Job Title: Design Drafter (Low Voltage & Life Safety Systems)

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our design team in support of specialized construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing the technical drawings required for the installation of large-scale electronic systems, including fire alarms, security, access control, and other low-voltage specialty systems. You will work under the supervision of senior designers to produce floor plan layouts, riser diagrams, and detailed electrical interconnection drawings. This is a fast-paced role that requires a strong understanding of construction documentation and the ability to maintain meticulous project records.

Key Responsibilities
• Technical Drafting: Prepare comprehensive construction drawings for site installations using AutoCAD. Output includes floor plans, riser diagrams, and termination details.
• Submittal Coordination: Assemble project submittal packages, including equipment data sheets and essential engineering calculations (e.g., battery life/voltage drop calculations).
• Documentation Management: Maintain organized project drawing files and associated records. Track and update "as-built" drawings throughout the project lifecycle to reflect field changes.
• Collaboration: Receive and execute project assignments from the design team, ensuring all drawings meet company and industry standards for accuracy and clarity.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Technical Mastery: High proficiency in AutoCAD (Version 2014 or higher) is mandatory.
• Software Skills: Strong command of Windows-based software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Industry Experience: * Previous experience in a construction-related field is required.
• Specific experience with Electrical or Mechanical construction drafting is preferred (note: this role does not involve electronic circuit board/PCB layout).
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Professionalism: Proven experience in a professional business environment. Candidates must demonstrate high organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
