Primary Purpose:
Provides technical support, installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and
lifecycle management for district technology devices, software, cloud-based services, and
network-connected equipment. Supports Windows, ChromeOS, Google Workspace for Education, classroom
technology, and cybersecurity initiatives, delivering exceptional customer service to district
staff. Assists in maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient technology operations across all
district campuses and departments.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
? High School Diploma or GED
? Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
? Valid CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification preferred
? Google Certified Education Support Professional certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
? Operating Systems & Platforms: Proficiency with ChromeOS, Windows 10/11, macOS, and iOS/iPadOS
environment management.
? Cloud & Directory Services: Hands-on experience with Google Workspace for Education Applications
(Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Slides, Meet, and Classroom) and Microsoft 365 / Active Directory.
? Device Management: Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms, zero-touch
deployment, and high-volume hardware diagnostic/repair (screens, batteries, motherboards).
? Classroom AV: Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot projectors, Interactive Flat Panels
(IFPs), wireless display technology, document cameras, and audio systems.
? Networking & Hardware: Knowledge of local area networks (LAN), wireless access points (WAPs),
network cabling, patch panels, and fundamental IP networking.
? Cybersecurity & Privacy: Familiarity with basic cybersecurity hygiene, endpoint protection
software, phishing awareness, and data privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, and Texas SB 820
guidelines).
? State Testing Support: Familiarity with online state testing platforms (Cambium/STAAR, TELPAS)
and secure browser deployments.
? Customer Service: Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills;
ability to deliver empathetic, patient support to non-technical staff and students.

Experience:
? Minimum two years of technical support experience in an enterprise or educational environment
installing, maintaining, and repairing computer hardware, peripherals, and software.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
General

Technical Support & Device Management
1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software issues across Chromebooks, laptops,
desktops, tablets, printers, and peripherals.
2. Deploy, manage, and maintain mobile student and staff devices using Mobile Device Management
(MDM) tools and the Google Admin Console.
3. Manage hardware warranty repairs, parts inventory, and Chromebook replacement lifecycles.
4. Use the district work order system to record, prioritize, resolve, and document Tier 1/2
technical requests in accordance with established service level agreements.
5. Assist with campus preparation, hardware deployment, and technical support for online state
testing windows (STAAR, TELPAS, NWEA MAP).

Installation & Classroom Infrastructure
1. Install, configure, and maintain classroom technology, including Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs),
document cameras, sound systems, and streaming devices.
2. Install, test, and terminate Cat6 network cabling, and assist with network switches, wireless
access points, and telecom equipment.
3. Support campus physical security systems, including IP security cameras, access control badge
systems, and emergency alert hardware.
4. Relocate computer equipment, interactive technology, and peripherals during campus reassignments
or facility upgrades.

Cybersecurity & Data Safety
1. Enforce district cybersecurity practices (in alignment with Texas SB 820) by ensuring endpoint
protection agents are active, operating system patches are applied, and unauthorized software is
removed.
2. Support user onboarding and access control by ensuring appropriate account permissions and
multi-factor authentication (MFA) requirements are enforced.
3. Adhere strictly to student data privacy policies, including FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, and the
district's Acceptable Use Policies (AUP).
4. Report potential cybersecurity incidents, data breaches, or physical security risks immediately
to the Technology Director or the District Cybersecurity Coordinator.

Professional & Customer Service
1. Provide prompt, courteous, and professional customer service to teachers, administrators, staff,
and students.
2. Maintain accurate asset-tracking records for district technology hardware and peripherals in the
inventory database.
3. Complete mandatory state and district training programs, including annual DIR-certified
cybersecurity awareness training (HB 3834).
4. Adhere to prescribed safety guidelines, including safe lifting techniques, ladder safety, and
proper hand-tool use.

Other
1. Respond to emergency technical or network outages outside standard hours, as assigned.
2. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and
local board policies.
3. Perform other duties as assigned by the Technology Director or designee.

Equipment Used:

Personal computer, Chromebooks, interactive displays, hand tools, network cabling test instruments,
multi-meters, diagnostic software, district vehicles, and ladder equipment.

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling; frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test
equipment Frequent in-district travel. Minimal out-of-town travel required. Occasional prolonged
and irregular hours, including nighttime and weekend hours. Maintain emotional control under
stress.
